On Friday, Nick Cannon shared the news that he and model Brittany Bell had welcomed their eleventh child.
The actor/producer announced the arrival of their child on his Instagram account. He signed off with the words, "WELCOME RISE MESSIAH CANNON 9/23/2022."
In February of 2017, Cannon and Bell became the proud parents of a son named Golden "Sagon" Cannon. In December of 2020, they welcomed a daughter, who would become known as Powerful Queen Cannon.
Cannon shared a clip from the "blessingway" he and Bell held on Friday to welcome their new addition to the world. He shared that she was the one who first told him about the idea of holding a gathering where "strong prayer warriors" would intercede with God on behalf of the family.
Blessingways, as described by The Birth Hour, are a type of pregnancy and motherhood celebration that differ from baby showers in that they are more on the mother than the child.
A New Fortune!!! He captioned the image, "All I can do is thank God as my adventure on this world becomes more and more wonderful and unfathomable."
Cannon has three children from a previous relationship with Bell and four living children from a further three women. Moroccan and Monroe Cannon, both 11, are his with ex-wife Mariah Carey; Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir Cannon, both 1 years old, are his with DJ Abby De La Rosa; Legendary Love Cannon, 6 weeks old, is his son with "Selling Sunset" star Bre Tiesi; and Onyx Ice Cole Cannon, born on September 14, is his son with Lanisha Cole.
Together with Alyssa Scott, Cannon also raised a son named Zen. Zen, who was just five months old when she died in 2021 from brain cancer, was the impetus for Cannon to establish a charity for children's health.
Cannon continued to address the sceptics of his blended family who may have read his Instagram post on Friday and found it incomprehensible.
To some, my family's dynamic may seem incomprehensible, yet God has given me stewardship and authority over it. But most significantly," he went on, "he has given me caring people to walk beside me as I pursue this worthwhile life."
Cannon referred to Bell as "the rock and basis of my Fatherhood journey" in an emotional tribute to his wife.
He credited Bell with teaching him "so much about parenting, psychology, spirituality, love, and just life."
